Ron Fontana

Before retiring from GE Capital in 2016 following the sale of GE Capital’s lending and leasing businesses to Wells Fargo, Ron served as a Senior Risk Officer responsible for the risk management function of GE Capital’s direct equipment finance business (essentially Chief Risk Officer for the direct equipment finance business); this business specialized in providing equipment loans and leases to middle-market companies for growth, acquisitions and turnarounds; Ron had authority to approve transactions up to $100mm.

Ron had risk oversight of Corporate Finance Leasing as well as the Rail Services, Fleet Management, Canada and Mexico platforms. Prior to this role, Ron was a Senior Risk Officer reviewing transactions and monitoring the portfolio for GE Commercial Aircraft Services (GECAS) and GE Energy Financial Services.

In 2004, Ron took an international assignment in London as the Direct Equipment Risk Leader responsible for equipment leasing across the European platforms.

Ron joined GE Capital in 1994 in the Commercial Equipment Financing division based out of Colorado, and he subsequently held risk management positions of increasing responsibility in CA and CT.

Ron received a BS in Finance and Economics from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
